What is dermal filler?
Dermal fillers are temporary filling materials that are injected in different layers of the skin to help filling, soothing wrinkles and balancing the treated areas.
Are all dermal fillers the same?
Most dermal fillers are made of hyaluronic acid (HA) with different technologies and different concentrations, each concentration is made for a specific treated area.
What happens when I get a filler?
Filler treatment takes between 20-30 minutes and usually does not require retouch. Local numbing cream is usually used to numb the area before treatment. You may feel a numbing or burning sensation as the filler is injected or immediately after because the filler is usually mixed with lidocaine. Bruising might happen, your doctor will guide on how to treat it.
How long doe filler last?
Multiple factors affect the longevity of a dermal filler, but generally it last from 8 to 12 months.
When will I see results after getting a filler?
Most HA treatment gives immediate results, however, some reduction in post injecting swelling is expected.
Is there downtime?
Mostly all HA has no downtime, and you are expected to return to your normal daily activity by the time you leave the office.
When can I repeat the treatment?
Filler treatment is temporary and can be repeated when needed.
